A One-Time Password (OTP) is a temporary, unique 4-digit code sent to your registered phone number to verify your identity. This extra layer of security ensures that only authorized users can finalize a purchase on your account.
How is the OTP delivered?
Nivoda offers three ways to receive your 4-digit verification code. If one method isn't working due to signal or carrier issues, you can try the others:
SMS: The standard text message sent to your registered mobile number.
WhatsApp: A secure message sent via WhatsApp (ideal if you are traveling or have poor cellular signal but are on Wi-Fi).
Automated Phone Call: An automated system will call your number and read the code aloud to you.
What should I do if I am not receiving my OTP?
If the code does not arrive within 60 seconds, please try the following troubleshooting steps:
Check your connection: Ensure you have a stable cellular or data connection.
Try an alternative method: On the checkout screen, select "Resend via WhatsApp" or "Call me" to bypass potential SMS carrier delays.
Verify your number: Ensure the phone number displayed on the verification screen is correct and includes the proper international country code.
Check blocked numbers: Ensure your phone is not automatically filtering messages from unknown international senders or short-code numbers.
Can I receive my OTP via email or disable it?
No. To maintain the highest level of account security, OTP cannot be delivered via email and cannot be disabled. Email accounts are more vulnerable to compromise than physical phone numbers, so SMS, WhatsApp, and Voice remain our mandatory verification methods for all purchases.
How do I update my phone number for OTP?
If you have changed your phone number, the Account Owner can update this directly within the platform:
Go to Account Settings.
Navigate to the personal setting section.
Update the phone number and follow the verification prompts to save the changes. Also see; Change your settings
